Trades coming for Mooseheads, but not for Knotek

With the Mooseheads having a dismal season so far many expected the team to clean house during the trading period, but it seems that might not be the case.

Speaking after the Mooseheads 10-1 loss to the Moncton Wildcats
Head Coach and General Manager Cam Russell said Captain Tomas Knotek would be staying put.

“The way we’re leaning right now is keeping Thomas,” Russell said. “I think he’s a huge part of our hockey team.”

Nineteen-year-old Knotek, the only member of the Moose to have a no-trade clause indicated he wanted to stay in Halifax.

“We owe it to our fans to give them not only an honest effort but to win some hockey games as well,” said Russell. “Thomas is the sort of guy who’s going to help us win some hockey games.”

Russell didn’t offer exactly who might be packing their bags but said they will be keeping their young guys, which is most of the team.
