New Year’s brawl in Antigonish leaves man dead

One man is dead after a New Year’s party brawl in Antigonish spilled from a house and into the streets.

RCMP say a man was killed, and several were injured in a major disturbance shortly after midnight.

RCMP haven’t immediately released the dead man’s name, but he’s reportedly 25-year old Jon Beaton.

Police aren’t saying how the man died, or what seemed to have sparked the fight.

Police have a 19-year old in custody, but have not laid any charges.
