Man injured in second car-train collision this week

RCMP are investigating a collision between a car and train for the second time this week.
RCMP Sgt. Brigit Leger says emergency crews responded to a collision between a car and a train at a crossing in Milford near the National Gypsum Quarry just before 8:30 a.m. Friday.
“One male has been extracted from the vehicle, the jaws of life were used to get him out of the vehicle, and he’s been transported to a medical facility in Halifax,” she said.
EHS reports the 37-year-old man was taken to the QEII with non-life threatening injuries.
Sgt Leger says it’s not known yet if this morning’s snowy weather was a factor in the crash.
On Wednesday, 60-year-old Julie Vials was killed when her car was hit by a Via Rail train at a private crossing in Windsor Junction.
