RCMP in Windsor have arrested and charged two Avondale men in connection with a hate crime in Hants County.
Nathan Neil Rehberg, 20 and Justin Chad Rehberg, 19, are facing several charges including public incitement of hatred and uttering threats.
Early Sunday morning, someone set a seven-foot tall cross on the front lawn of the home of Shayne Howe and Michelle Lyon, lit it on fire and yelled racial slurs before leaving.
RCMP say the two suspects appeared in Kentville court this morning, and are known to the victims.
Howe, who is black, and Lyon, who is white, have said they were thinking of moving, but have received overwhelming support from friends, neighbours and even complete strangers.
