Blast of wind and rain headed to N.S.

There’s good news and bad news in the weather forecast for the next 24 hours.
The good news: most of the snow will disappear.
The bad news: we could be up to our knees in water .
News 95.7’s meteorologist Richard Zurawski says a deep low pressure system is bringing up to 60 milimetres of rain and wind gusts of up to 90 km/h to metro, starting soon.
“By this afternoon, you’re looking at wind and rain and of course it will really increase this evening for the drive home and tomorrow morning, the drive to work, it’ll still be quite a storm,” he said.
Zurawski is warning homeowners to clear the storm drains, and drivers to slow down.
“What’s going to add to the problem is the fact that we’ve got some snow on the ground and that’s going to be melting as well because the temperature’s well above the freezing mark,” he said. “So you’ve got hydroplaning, lots of wind out there, and reduced visibility.”
Environment Canada has issued rainfall warnings for Halifax metro, Halifax County west, Lunenburg, Yarmouth, Queens and Shelburne counties. Wind warnings are in effect for Lunenburg, Queens and Shelburne.
