RCMP are investigating a possible biker gang link to Friday’s double murder in Barr Settlement.
Police confirm James “Rustie” Hall was a known member of the former East Coast Riders, which recently patched over to the Hells Angels-affiliated Bacchus Motorcycle Club.
Supt. Brian Brennan, the federal policing officer for RCMP in Nova Scotia, says it’s not known if the biker gang link is a factor in the murders.
“It’s a little too early in our investigation to say whether or not this homicide was a result of his participation in that group,” says Brennan.
He says this definitely raises concerns for policing in the province.
“For them there’s a lot at stake and for policing there’s a lot at stake for us, public safety,” says Brennan.
In January eight members of the East Coast Riders were patched over to the Bacchus Motorcycle Club.
The takeover came after rival clubs to the Angels showed interest in establishing chapters in Nova Scotia.
