Fatal fire in Dartmouth not considered suspicious

Halifax Regional Police say a fatal fire in Dartmouth is not considered suspicious.
Firefighters went to an apartment building on Pinecrest Drive just after 5 p.m. Tuesday. They found a body on the third floor, where heavy smoke was pouring from an apartment.
Halifax police Staff Sgt. Barb Saunders tells News 95.7 the victim is an adult male, but couldn’t say more than that.
“We are confident of the identity of the party, but still waiting for notification of next of kin before his name is released,” she said.
Saunders says fire and police investigators were on the scene through the night and cleared it early this morning. No other injuries were reported and no other apartments were damaged.
