Multiple break-ins and a robbery over one weekend in Halifax

Police in the provincial capital responded to 700 calls for service over the weekend, including multiple break-ins and a robbery at a popular store.
According to Halifax Regional Police, they were called around 7:55 p.m. on Friday for a theft at the Costco on Chain Lake Drive. According to the press release, staff said they saw a man enter the store with a hammer.
Using the weapon, he broke a display case and left with a quantity of jewellery.
When officers arrived they searched the area but did not find the suspect. He is described as a white man, who was wearing a mask, sunglasses, a blue hooded sweater and dark pants with running shoes.
That same night, police were called at 10:35 p.m. to a Petro Canada gas station in the West End. An employee said a man walked in and threatened them with a firearm while demanding money.
The suspect took a quantity of cash and left quickly on a black motorcycle driven by another person. He is described as a white man wearing a mask, black jacket, black pants, a black motorcycle helmet and gloves.
On Aug. 23, around 2:20 a.m., officers were sent to a home just down the street from the gas station that was robbed.
The homeowner told officers that they arrived home to find an unknown man inside their house. The suspect ran away, and police did not find him.
He is described as a Black man wearing dark clothing.
The next day, police were called to another gas station, this time an Esso in Dartmouth.
An eyewitness said they saw four men running from the store after the front door was smashed. They were carrying items.
Officials went looking for the men but did not find them. Police detailed that the store was closed at the time of the break-in.
One suspect was wearing a white mask, grey sweater, jeans and black boots during the incident. The second was wearing a black hooded sweater, white mask, grey sweatpants with black boots and gloves.
