Three days, two record highs: El Nino brings early spring

St. Patrick’s Day 2010 is the warmest ever on record in Halifax.
The temperature hit a new record high of 15.1 degrees Wednesday, well above the old record of 12 degrees set in 1984.
It’s the second record high set this week, as March Break opened Monday with a new high of 12 degrees.
Temperatures are soaring across the country, reaching 18 degrees in Toronto, 15 in Medicine Hat and 14 in Victoria. New record highs were set in Fredericton, Montreal and Ottawa.
Environment Canada says it’s the warmest March on record for most places in the country, thanks to the El Nino weather pattern.
It hasn’t helped everyone – it was- 40 degrees in Eureka, Nunavut on Wednesday.
