Two men are in hospital recovering from gunshot wounds this morning following another shooting, this time in the north end of Halifax.
It happened last night at around 6:40 in the area of Olympic Court near Uniacke Street.
Police arrived moments after the shots rang out but the victims and the shooter had already fled the scene.
Shortly after that two men in their twenties turned up at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre.
One man had been shot in the leg, the other in the abdomen.
The men got a drive to the hospital. Officers later seized a vehicle with a bloody back seat in Dartmouth.
Police believe the victims were in that vehicle after being shot.
Sergeant Bill Morris with Halifax Regional Police says the timing of this shooting is particularly worrying.
“It’s concerning to the citizens as well as the police,” he said. “It’s a long weekend; it was a nice night out 6:39 p.m., all kinds of children in the area.”
The investigation is ongoing and police are processing the crime scene.
Investigators have spoken with the victims, but Morris says they’re not co-operating.
