Easter weekend posts record-breaking temperatures

Temperatures soared to new record highs over the Easter weekend – and more of the same is in store.

Sunday’s high of 24.7 degrees shattered the previous record of 17.7, set in 1981.

Saturday’s high of 21 was also nearly five degrees above the former record.

Friday’s high of 17 was another one for the record books.

Temperatures today and Tuesday are also expected to reach the high teens, which could set yet more records.

At this time of year, the high normally hovers around seven degrees Celsius.
