Fairview overpass project almost done

The Fairview overpass could be at least partially open in another week.
Pavement is down, concrete is down and the transportation department says there is only one key component left.
“Right now we’re working on installing the expansion joint between the old and new structures,” says Patricia Jreige with the department. “That has to be done properly and safely and so safety is the number one concern here.”
The final layer of asphalt wasn’t expected to be down until later in the season, but the good weather has allowed crews to do it early.
