Still no decision in Brindi-the-dog case

A decision on whether or not to euthanize Brindi the dog will be heard at the end of the month.
Brindi’s owner Francesca Rogier, who is representing herself, made her closing arguments to the court Friday afternoon citing several other cases.
“I have no objection that the judge would like to sit down and look at everything carefully,” says Rogier. “I can’t ask for better than that. I’m very optimistic once she does do that, she’s going to see very clearly what the decision should be.”
Halifax trainer Ted Efthymiadis testified the dog should not be put to death and instead recommended constant training and a muzzle order.
“The only reason I suggested a muzzle, not because I don’t think we can’t get that type of training without a muzzle, but basically it’s there for insurance,” he said.
The city’s lawyer questioned the qualifications of Efthymiadis as an expert.
The prosecution is calling for the dog’s destruction and a $1 fine.
Rogier was found guilty of letting the dog run at large, owning a dog that attacked another, and not complying with a muzzle order.
