Robbery spree ends quickly

An alleged criminal has learned it’s probably best to take a breather between robberies.

A man armed with a box cutter entered the post office on Queen Street in Dartmouth Friday afternoon, but he came away empty handed.

So 18 minutes later, with the knife in hand, he stole money from the cash register at Dartmouth Vacuum Rebuilders on Portland Street.

Police were in the area because of the first attempted robbery, so they were able to make a quick and easy arrest.

A 31-year old man – who was on parole – is facing two counts of robbery with violence.
