The province has released a stack of reports on the proposed new convention centre.
The minister in charge insists he still hasn’t made up his mind on the project.
The reports lay out the benefits of a new convention centre, the preferred option for running it, etc.
Trade Centre Limited CEO Scott Ferguson says their current centre doesn’t meet today’s needs and is turning off potential customers.
“Competition and expectations have increased dramatically,” he said. “We know from first-hand knowledge, and lost business.”
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Estabrooks says he released the info to further public debate.
“I have not made my mind up,” he said. “Please be assured of the fact that I have not made my mind up.”
A department official says the government will decide after proposals come back,
but admits they’ve already applied for federal funding.
