Phone scammers targetting the green-minded

Scammers are on the phone trying to steal your identity and they’re getting creative with their latest tactic.
On at least six occasions people have recieved calls from someone trying to sell a magic device that reduces power consumption.
“The scam is put in place so they can get the person’s credit card information,” says Cst. Brian Palmeter with Halifax police.
He says they are investigating six such calls and those are only the ones they know about.
“The information was just passed along by people checking with us about it being a possible scam,” says Palmeter, adding luckily nobody has been caught in the scam yet.
Police are reminding everyone to not give out credit card or personal information to someone who calls you.
