Man killed in two-vehicle collision that closed part of Bedford Highway

A 66-year-old man was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived after a two-vehicle crash in Halifax.

Officers with the Halifax Regional Police Service responded to a collision that closed a busy intersection in the municipality just before 6:00 a.m. on Monday. The intersection of the Bedford Highway and Flamingo Drive is where a motorcycle and a car collided.

The 66-year-old driving the motorcycle was killed.

The highway in the area was closed for several hours on Monday morning while an investigation was underway. The road reopened around 12:30 p.m.

“Thoughts are with the loved ones of the deceased and everyone who was affected by this incident,” police said in the release.
