Mayor, council slipping in public approval

Support for HRM’s elected representatives appears to be dropping.
A Citythink survey conducted for Metro Halifax shows respondents gave regional council a satisfaction ranking of five out of 10.
Mayor Peter Kelly did slightly better with an average ranking of six out of 10.
Unfortunately for Kelly, Bristol Omnifacts Vice President Craig Wight says he used a score of seven as the minimum for a positive response.
He notes both the mayor and council got lower rankings than in a similar survey conducted two years ago, which Kelly blames on council’s tendency to get into lengthy arguments about minor points.
