Province looking to regulate unregulated tattoo industry

The province is looking at beefing up tattoo regulations, because, as it stands now in Nova Scotia, there are none.
If you want to set up a tattoo parlour in your home, there’s very little stopping you.
“Currently there’s no set regulations in Nova Scotia like some other provinces in Canada,” says Linda Pastorini with the department of health promotion and protection.
Her department and two others are looking at all areas where we’re lacking in public health regulations.
“We expect that the tattoo parlour regulation, piercing regulation, those kind of things will be identified,” says Pastorini.
However regulations for people who draw on you with needles have never been “formally” identified as a concern.
Even if it comes up in this process, there’s no word how long it could take to change things.
