Support for NDP government slipping: poll

There isn’t much good news for the Dexter government in the latest Corporate Research Associates quarterly poll.
Support for the government and the premier’s personal popularity have both taken a hit.
The May survey released Thursday pegs the government’s support at 37 per cent, down from 46 per cent in February.
Premier Dexter’s support fell 11 points to 24 per cent, mostly because of the MLA’s expenses scandal, says pollster Don Mills.
“Not only was he identified as one of the individuals that had spent money on questionable items,” says Mills. “But his position on his legal fees I think was really not well thought out.”
Liberal support is up to 35 per cent, a statistical tie with the NDP and Stephen McNeil’s support is up too.
“Mr. McNeil’s support has risen to its highest point at 29 per cent now so he’s the most popular leader at the moment,” says Mils.
Tory support was up slightly from 22 to 24 per cent.
