What’s open, what’s closed for Canada Day

Here’s the list of what’s open and closed for Canada Day:

– NSLC stores, grocery stores, malls and all government offices are closed for the day.

– Private liquor stores like cold beer stores, Bishop’s Cellar and Premier Wines are open.

Metro Transit will be running on a holiday schedule. There will also be minor detours due to the Tattoo parade starting at 10:30.

– Paving work on Highway 102 will be suspended for the day, so you’ll face no delays on the way to the airport.

– The MacKay Bridge is closed until 5 a.m. Friday, July 2.

– There will be no garbage or recycling pickup today; collection services normally scheduled for today will be provided on Saturday, July 3rd.

– The Otter Lake Facilities and the HRM Recycling Plant will be closed today, but will be open regular operating hours on Saturday, July 3rd.

– The HRM’s residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot will be closed Saturday, July 3rd, but will be open on Saturday, July 10th from 9 am to 4 pm.
