Police to establish most wanted list

Halifax Regional Police will soon introduce a most wanted list to help crack some of HRM’s toughest cases.

Police department spokesman Brian Palmeter says officers assigned to the High Enforcement Action Team are going to put out the list.

“Essentially they’re going to choose, I believe it’s going to be about eight people, and the list will come out every two months,” he said. “The people police feel are chronically violating their conditions or are maybe wanted in connection with a serious incident [will appear on the list.]”

The first list is expected to include an individual wanted in connection with a homicide.

It will be made available to the public through the media and posted on the internet.

The department is hoping to have the first list out in about a week.
