Charges laid in Capital Health theft

An investigation into missing money from the Capital Health District has ended with 21 charges being laid against a 26-year-old Halifax woman.

Constable Brian Palmeter says the Integrated Financial Crime unit looked at two separate incidents involving two separate employers.

“One of which,” he says, “is Capital District Health. That took place earlier this year. Initially, it was believed that the amount involved was under $5000, but our investigation has determined exceeded $5000, which is why the charges, in the case, are Theft Over $5000.”

Palmeter says the other company involved is Pathfinder Group, a management company in Halifax.

A court appearance was scheduled today for Crystal Rose Hatfield.
