Firefighters battle Fall River house fire

A fire has gutted a garage, wrecked a car and damaged a house in Fall River Village.

Smoke billowed into the sky around 3 p.m. as firefighters tried to extinguish the flames at a home on Richardson Drive.

The fire appeared to start in the garage and spread to a parked car, as well as the house.

Two people who were in the house at the time got out safely, along with a couple of pets.

Firefighters had the situation under control within about a half an hour.
