Police investigate yet another weekend group assault

Police are adding another assault to the tally of swarming attacks over the long weekend.
They’d counted six before. This would be the seventh.
Officers say they got third-hand information Wednesday night about a man who was assaulted by a group of six or seven young men near Agricola and Harris Streets Saturday night.
He was with a woman, who was also beaten. Both were treated in hospital.
Police looked into it and turned up an assault report filed by the woman.
Investigators say they believe this attack is connected to the half a dozen other incidents they’ve been investigating.
