The man charged with murdering Timberlea schoolteacher Paula Gallant is giving up for now on his bail application.
Gallant’s husband, Jason MacRae, was to seek bail today at Nova Scotia Supreme Court, ahead of his trial on a charge of first degree murder.
Instead, his lawyer withdrew the application.
The judge added that he’s dismayed to see more information about the 2005 murder in newspapers than he’s seen in legal documents — and warned whoever’s leaking the news to stop, so the case won’t be jeopardized.
