HRP officer released without charges

A local police officer arrested this week in a criminal investigation has been released without being charged.

Halifax Regional Police revealed Wednesday that an officer and another man were arrested.

On Thursday, they posted a very short news release saying the officer had been released.

The force says a related investigation continues, but there are no details about what it involves.

The officer has not been officially identified but the Chronicle-Herald says he’s Const. Sam Saade, who’s served in Halifax for roughly five years.
