The Salvation Army is in the final week of its Christmas push for donations.
This year, the organization is helping 5300 children along with the work they do with shelters and food banks.
While they haven’t reached their goal yet, they’re getting close. At this point last year the Salvation Army had raised $759,000 in the Maritimes.
The Salvation Army’s Director of Public Relations and development Rhonda Herrington tells News 95.7 they’re right on track again this year, especially in HRM.
“Our numbers are up locally,” she said. “In HRM last year at this time were we at $169,000 and this year we’re at $202,000.”
But that doesn’t mean they don’t need your help. She says the last couple weeks before Christmas are really important – and are traditionally the highest for donations.
