A North Preston man who was the victim of a weekend shooting is “well known” to area RCMP.
Officers were on their way to investigate reports of gunfire at a Downey Street address around 4:30 Sunday morning when they were met by a car speeding in the opposite direction.
They pulled the vehicle over and discovered the 24-year-old victim inside. An ambulance was called and he was taken to the QEII.
Police have not revealed his condition or identity.
However, RCMP Staff Sgt. Scott Warnica tells Metro Halifax the victim is well known to them and they don’t believe the attack was random.
Officers searched the home where the shooting took place Sunday afternoon.
