Coyote traps going down in Spryfield

The Department of Natural Resources says a professional trapper will be on the job today to find a coyote that attacked a man in Spryfield.

The Nova Scotia Power meter reader was at an urban farm on Rockingstone Road on Friday when he ran into three coyotes.

One of them lunged at him and grabbed his arm, tearing his coat sleeve.

It’s believed to be the first attack of its kind in Halifax.

Biologist Mike Boudreau tells Metro Halifax a trapper visited the area on Sunday and will be back today to place traps.

Warning signs will go up wherever the “live holding” traps are located.
