Power outage sparks outrage

Business owners and residents in the Bedford and Sackville areas are not happy after nearly a full day without power on one of the coldest days of the year.
The power went out just before 8 a.m. Tuesday and for some residents the light and heat didn’t come back on until 6 p.m.
“It shouldn’t happen. They keep on putting the price up every couple of months. After the money we are paying we are not getting the service that we should,” Bedford resident Salina Richards tells CTV News.
“It’s inconvenient, so we don’t like it. It’s horrible. We’re cold. We’re freezing. Our fingers are numb. Our toes are numb,” said Jacqueline Rapier.
Damage to the Cobequid Road substation was to blame.
Nova Scotia Power officials apologized for the inconvenience but said they don’t compensate customers unless one of their technicians are at fault.
