Dog attack victim improving ‘slightly’: friend

The Yarmouth woman attacked by a pit-bull type dog on the weekend is improving slightly, according to a family friend.
The friend, who asked not to be named, tells the Chronicle Herald that Noella Ann McIntosh has had several hours of surgery for bite wounds to her face and neck.
McIntosh was chased out of a home on Saturday evening by the dog and attacked.
She was airlifted to the QEII Hospital in critical condition after Mounties shot and killed the dog.
The paper also reports the owner’s two dogs were involved in a similar attack three years ago when a man was severely injured.
The owner claimed the victim was trying to break into his home. The dogs were seized then later released, and the owner was never charged.
RCMP are still investigating Saturday’s incident but haven’t yet been able to speak with McIntosh.
