Nova Scotia woos skilled immigrants

Nova Scotia has released a strategy that it hopes will recruit more skilled immigrants to the province.

The government hopes to attract 72-hundred immigrants a year by 2020 – up from the current goal of 36-hundred.

Premier Darrell Dexter says his government is adding $790,000 to its $5.1 million immigration budget to target skilled labour.

The province says more immigrants are needed to bolster an aging and shrinking workforce.
