CCRSB considering Saturday classes to make up for storm days

One school board in Nova Scotia is considering holding classes on Saturdays to make up for storm days.

Schools in the Chignecto Central Regional Board lost at least four days this year because of bad weather.

Board chair Trudy Thompson tells the CBC that school officials are very concerned about the lost teaching time and need to find ways to make it up.

She says it’s not clear whether the Education Act could or would be changed to bring students in on Saturdays.

Thompson is stressing that at this point, it’s just an idea.
