Man charged in serious assault case

A man is due in court Monday in connection with an assault in Halifax that left another man with life-threatening head injuries.

Police say 36-year-old Lee Corey Elliott faces a charge of aggravated assault.

He was arrested Friday after police received a report of an injured man at an apartment building.

Two women who were taken into custody were released without charges.
