Student charged in bomb threat hoax

Police in Cape Breton say a student at Memorial Jr. High in Sydney is accused of making a phoney bomb threat from a payphone inside the school.
The principal evacuated the building and called police around 12:30 p.m. Friday after the hoax was called in.
Police say a search turned up nothing suspicious and the students returned to their classes.
Police say investigators worked with their dispatch staff and Aliant to determine the call had been made from a school payphone.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with making a hoax call.
Police say they will recommend the case be referred to the restorative justice program.
