Venue set for Leopold murder case hearing

A Nova Scotia man accused of second-degree murder in the death of a 47-year-old woman will have a preliminary hearing in Bridgewater.

The judge hearing the case has decided against having the hearing in Liverpool – the woman’s hometown – because of security concerns.

Laura Lee Robertson disappeared April 14.

Her body was found in woods in Greenfield, N.S., two weeks later.

James Leroy Leopold of Greenfield has been in custody since his arrest on the same day Robertson’s body was found.

The preliminary hearing begins July 21.
