Two men are in hospital after a fight in a Fairview home – one suffering from a stab wound.
Officers were called to a home in the 100 block of Main Avenue just before 9 a.m. today.
Halifax Regional Police Cst. Brian Palmeter tells News 95.7 they found two men inside, both injured.
“We determined that there were two injured parties in the residence, one of whom, a 31-year-old man, was suffering from a stab wound,” he said. “Both men were taken to hospital and investigators believe a physical altercation between the two led to one stabbing the other.”
A 53-year-old man suffered injuries related to a physical assault.
Police say the two men are known to each other. It’s believed they’re family members, but police will not confirm the relationship.
Later, police announced charges: “As a result of the investigation by the HRP/RCMP Integrated General
Investigation Section, the 31-year-old Halifax man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court to face charges of assault causing bodily harm.”
Investigators are working to figure out what sparked the violence.
