Gas station retailers still dry

Some retail gasoline suppliers say they are still struggling to keep tanks full despite an ease in the fuel shortage in Metro.
The Imperial Oil refinery in Dartmouth was shut down by a lightning strike in late July.
Officials decided to keep the plant off-line to perform scheduled maintenance, albeit a few weeks earlier than originally planned.
The early shutdown has led to a gas shortage that had some stations closed over the Natal Day long weekend, one of the busiest driving weekends of the summer.
Metro Halifax reports Imperial has starting importing oil to make up the shortfall and gas reserves at local stations are starting to rebound a bit.
