City hall’s transportation committee is recommending council earmark $1 million for a five-kilometre multi-use trail stretching from Burnside to Bedford.
If approved, it would be built adjacent to a planned extension of the Highway 107 extension on the opposite side of Anderson Lake from Magazine Hill.
The Herald reports it would likely cost the city about $5 million to build the four-metre wide path on it’s own.
If approved, it will be the city’s only active transportation project for the 2013 -14 budget year.
