Arson and attempted robbery overnight in Halifax

Halifax Regional Police are looking for three suspects following a house fire and attempted robbery overnight in Halifax. The two incidents are not connected but both happened within a two hour span.
The call of an attempted robbery and assault came in at 12:20am Wednesday. HRP Sgt. Christina Martin tells News 95.7 officers were called to the 6900 block of Bayers Road.
“An adult male victim reports exiting the bus at this location and being approached by two unknown males who attempted to forcibly remove his satchel from him,” Martin says. “There’s a vague suspect description which includes two black males, approximately 17 to 20 years old, both wearing white t-shirts.”
Martin says the suspects fled the area empty handed.
A short time later, police were called to Lavender Walk in Spryfield where residents reported an unwanted man in the area. Upon arrival, crews discovered a small fire inside a home on that street.
“Members were able to gain entrance into the residence and ensure no persons or animals were inside,” Martin says.”The fire was quickly extinguished and the investigation is still ongoing at this time.”
Police are looking for the arsonist.
