Charges are not expected after a man stepped into traffic on Joe Howe Drive at the Fairview overpass and was hit by a bus during rush-hour last evening.

The 25-year-old has serious injuries but doctors expect he’ll survive.

Around midnight, the intrusion alarm went off at Central Spryfield School on Herring Cove Road.

The Quick Response Unit showed up and surrounded the building. Backup arrived, including the police dog.

They arrested five boys, all due in court this morning on charges of break, enter and theft breaching court orders.
