Liberals slam decision to cut mortuary service

Nova Scotia Liberals are critical of the government’s decision to cut back on the hours of mortuary service.

Justice critic Michel Samson says it means grieving families may have to wait for up to five days before the province releases the remains of their loved ones.

Weekend mortuary services will be reduced and cremation will no longer be approved outside of business hours.

Samson says making families wait longer only compounds the anguish.
