Murder victim’s wife devastated by random attack

The wife of a man who was murdered in Spryfield says the violent crime has shattered her life.
Glenn Oakley, 70, died in hospital Saturday night after pedestrians found him lying injured on the Drysdale Road bridge.
Police say they are investigating his death as a homicide and believe Oakley was the victim of a random attack.
Sheila Oakley tells Global News, she can’t understand who would want to hurt her husband of 39 years.
“I don’t know who the culprits were that did this to him, but when they killed him, they killed me,” she said. “They tore the heart right out of my chest.”
Ms. Oakley says her husband, an employee of Northwood Manor in Halifax, was a friendly, outgoing man who “wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
Police believe Mr. Oakley was attacked while he was out for his nightly walk through the neighbourhood.
Investigators want to talk to anyone who might have seen him on Saturday evening.
