Three Halifax teens have been charged in connection with what police are calling a random killing in Spryfield over the weekend.
A 17-year-old male youth and 18-year-old man have both been charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Glenn Francis Oakley, 70. The pair also faces charges of robbery with a firearm, possession of stolen property, fraudulent use of a credit card and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The third person charged is an 18-year-old Halifax man who was arrested Tuesday afternoon. He’s been charged with accessory after the fact and possession of stolen property.
While the case remains open, the investigators are not looking for any additional suspects.
Oakley was found on a bridge in Spryfield around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at hospital.
