Occupy N.S. to stage rolling ‘flash mob’ protests

The Occupy Nova Scotia protesters are shifting tactics in an effort to keep the movement in the public eye.

The group staged a short “flash mob” style protest inside the Walmart on Mumford Road Tuesday, saying they wanted to highlight the damaged caused by mass consumerism.

About 30 people showed up at the store around noon for the noisy demonstration. Staff at the store called police, but the group had dispersed by the time officers arrived.

Protester Jenn Anderson tells the Herald the group’s spontaneous action committee will stage several more similar protests in order to keep raising public awareness of their cause.
