Man in critical condition after North Preston shooting

A young man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times while walking in a residential area of North Preston.
RCMP responded to Cain Street shortly after midnight after residents reported several gun shots in the area.
A 19-year-old man was found at the scene and rushed to the QEII.
“We believe that they are serious injuries. He’s still in hospital and requires care,” Cpl. Scott MacRae told News 95.7.
MacRae says it’s too early to say whether this was a random or targeted incident, or what the motive might have been for the shooting.
“This just happened in the late hours of last night and the early hours of this morning,” said MacRae. “More information will come out once the investigators have a chance to see if we have witnesses. It’s just too early to speculate.”
RCMP and HRP major crime unit are expected to be on scene most of the day.
