Halifax Regional Police have a young offender in custody after a car crash that sent two adults and an infant to hospital.

A police officer pulled a car over on Brunswick Street around 9:15 Thursday night. As the officer was walking towards the vehicle, the driver took off, hitting the medium on North Street where the car flipped onto its roof and hit another vehicle.

The driver crawled out of the car and and fled on foot, but was arrested nearby.

Police say the car had been reported stolen earlier in the day.

A man, woman and baby in the second vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
