Hatchet Lake home destroyed by fire

Another family in HRM is homeless after a devastating fire in Hatchet Lake.

regional fire crews were calld a house on fiddle parkway around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Platoon Chief Bryson Wilson tells the Herald everyone inside got out safely, but the two-storey home is a total write off.

Firefighters were expected to be at the scene most of the night, checking for hotspots.

It’s believed the fire started in a wall near a fireplace, but the official cause is still under investigation.
