RCMP arrest three after string of car thefts, crashes

Three men are facing dozens of charges after leading RCMP on a prolonged hunt around the Goffs area.
It started around 3 p.m. Tuesday when a Chevy pickup truck, towing a Toyota Matrix on a trailer, was stolen from Old Guysborough Road.
Police found the Matrix and trailer a short time later.
Then around 4 p.m., the truck crashed into a garage in Lantz and two men fled in a stolen Chevy cavalier, driven by a third suspect.
The trio crashed that car soon afterwards, and tried to steal another car, but the owner scared the would-be thieves away.
They returned to the Cavalier for a while before ditching it and running away.
A Halifax Regional Police K9 unit chased them through the woods in the Antrim area, leading officers to two men and a young offender.
All three will be in court today facing 26 separate charges.
None of them were injured in the vehicle accidents.
